The Left protesters claimed that the US actions were driven by an attempt to capture Venezuela’s oil resources.

In a joint statement, five Left parties strongly denounced the US actions, calling them “a blatant violation of the UN Charter.”

“We strongly denounce and condemn the US aggression against Venezuela and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. This is an attack carried out against a sovereign nation in blatant violation of the UN Charter,” the statement said.

The Left parties further asserted that the real motive behind the US actions was Venezuela’s oil.

How the US captured Nicolas Maduro in 2 hours and 20 minutes

“The US President, Donald Trump, in his address, stated that they would capture the oil reserves of Venezuela, laying bare the real intentions behind this aggression,” the statement claimed.

It further added, “The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, went a step further and warned that Cuba and Mexico would be their next targets. These statements, coming days after the release of the US National Security Strategy 2025, make it clear that US imperialism seeks to impose its hegemony over the entire world, even if it means carrying out military attacks.”

The Left protest came a day after US special forces entered Venezuela and “captured” President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

the Venezuelan leader is now being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and is expected to face serious drug trafficking and weapons-related charges in a Manhattan federal court.

Maduro is reportedly charged with narco-terrorism conspiracy, conspiracy to import cocaine, firearms offences and related crimes, with the alleged conduct said to have begun around 1999 and continued through 2025.
